Bursting out of the doors of school, the world swells around me
My brain unlocks and suddenly I can see

Polynomials, aldehydes and esters, I remember not
Instead, pictures of far-away places and vibrant colors dance through my head
People long gone come back from the dead
Rainbows emerge and I find the pot of gold
Resting at the end, just like we’ve been told
Words slither silently off the pages of books
While jackets float mysteriously off golden hooks

The wind blows leaves from trees, hosting a dance show
The sun drops sweetness into apples, turning them red
Sparkling waves do summersaults, one after another, as they move ahead
The earth spinning, all creatures hang on so they won’t fall
And then back to reality I hear myself call
Everything steadies and glowing colors lose their lusts
