She sings herself a lullaby
promising herself that she wouldn't cry

the footprints trailing behind her
she's falling to her knees in this cardinal winter

If I tell you goodbye
will you hold me tight
even if for the very last time

The snow will cover up this tragedy
for a second we'll be out of our misery
not wondering why
the world pretends to be alive
I'm sorry I said forever
but I was never expecting this cardinal winter

Buried in an icy grave
she wonders to herself could she be saved?

Longing for his final touch
finding out love is
a bit too much

When I tell you goodbye
Please don't cry to me
I know that's not who you've become to be

The snow will cover up this tragedy
for a second we'll be out of our misery
not wondering why
the world pretends to be alive
I'm sorry I said forever
but I was never expecting this cardinal winter

The tree where we kissed
all these moments I miss
are starting to go grey
and that spark in your eye
before I told you goodbye
will never shine as bright

The snow will cover up this tragedy
for a second we'll be out of our misery
not wondering why
the world pretends to be alive
I'm sorry I said forever
but I was never expecting this cardinal winter
