Frowning at the frowning sky
A child too pure for this world
“Clap!”
Hugged by smacking leaves
A child too pure for this world
Painted a stained white
White skin like bracelets
Permanently molded into their arm
A child too pure for this world
Dead in their eyes
Before they even lived
A child too pure for this world
Too small
Too sad
Too scared
A child too pure for this world
Who won’t be for long
Who won’t be so innocent
In a little while
