I hold my sword in hand
Making sure it's sharp
I look at my enemy in this reflection of self
I choose my words carefully
so as not to offend him
so he may let me pass
to speak to my muse
and I bring gifts
so she may help fill
this blank page
with words the paint pictures
ones that hold my voice
that hold my meaning
