Pain is not Pretty
You used to tell me you trust me
And that you wanted to be close.
I was the warmest place you knew
But it was you who turned me cold.
We used to talk for hours
When my voice, you needed to hear
But now your silence isn't silent;
It's a siren with painful memories.
The moment you knew I loved you,
The smile you held soon faded.
I wanted to turn the clocks back
But I ran out of time.
And I wanted our goodbye to mean something,
But no end is poetic.
All of my tears were never beautiful;
They were just wet.
