Violet Skies
You touched me and suddenly, I woke in colour;
Alive with passion and the hollow moon.
My fingers still trace the curve of your spine
When I lay alone in bed.
You stared, now I idolise the light in your eyes,
Even though sometimes, it is dimly lit.
I remember stolen glances and knowing smiles
That we shared, those mornings in December.
You smile and I am awake with desire;
No other could hold their own against you.
And I want to run and find you, always,
But I worry you won't be alone.
You cry and I feel the pain alongside you,
Because you and I are destiny bound.
But would it have been better, me never knowing;
Living with emptiness I never knew was there?
