I am a cat
My keen sharp eyes always observing
Longing for knowledge and to learn something new
I choose the form that suits my liking,
I couldn't care less what other’s think
Body pulsing with energy , feet tapping
Itching to get out and explore
Forever searching for affection,
Always in need of a cuddle
Kind to those who are kind in return,
I will always try to forgive
Although…
I am quick to hold a grudge
My temper is a bed of hot coals; push enough and a fire will erupt
Tell me what to do, I’ll do the opposite;
My furr swishing as I turn my back and strut away
My tail hits the floor with impatient thuds
My patience grows thin with every passing moment
Sassy smirk permanently saying “I know I'm right”
Challenging you to say otherwise
My hair stands on end with every move, my body tensing with every sound,
Always ready to run at any sign of danger
Demurring posture screaming spoiled and rude
Yet I'm always ready to comfort and play
I am a paradox
I am a Cat.

I love cats and I have a lot in common with them. By writing this poem I wanted to show my readers how I am similar to them and also the many contradicting traits cats possess!
