What You Are
You
are all you need.
If you plant,
this wonderous seed
in your mind,
it will grow
to thoughts
you'd never have known.
You
will be amazed;
all the things
you set upon your gaze.
you'll never realize
what you can do.
If you try,
you can do
anything you want to.
You
are your most valued tool,
because in the end,
you aren't a fool.
Sometimes you'll fall short,
others you'll hit it out of the park,
but just know that
all you need is that spark.
You
are the one thing
you must not forget.
If you do
there'll be no safety net.
You'll keep falling,
tumbling, stumbling
in the hopeless dark;
for the light you're fumbling,
your world around you crumbling.

This piece was inspired by the song "The Strays" by Sleeping the Sirens. I hope you guys will get the gist that you should never lose sight of yourself. I know my best friends, Brooke Woodward and Kylen Timko, helped me realize this myself.
