City in the Night

stars twinkle
in the dark blue sky
giant skyscrapers
tower high
the usually packed streets
are deserted, not a soul in sight
nothing lies under
the streetlight
through the air
drifts a soft tune
i listen with delight
as i gaze at the moon
which is eclipsed
by giant skyscrapers
and surronded
by twinkling stars
