The sun rises
Gracing the treetops with a golden morning glow
Sunbeams bursting through clouds
A stairway for the angels
Flowers turn their faces to greet the east
Heralded by the song of sparrows and finches
And I dance through the woods
Searching for the fiery jewel itself
But once again I am too late
Escaped just through my fingertips into the bright blue sky
So I sink to the ground
Beneath the giant willow tree
To await the morning and the chance to touch
My lover once again
