I still imagine what it would be like,
To sleep next to you, slumber peacefully.
Whisper your name, carry your child,
Can't you feel our baby kick, I can.

Your fingers brush my once bitten lips,
Run over my cheeks, end in my curly mess of hair.
Kiss my lips, my neck, each scar on my shoulders,
Hold me close, just us three, me, you, and the unborn.

We stay up for hours talking, giggling, holding.
Starting with Aiden, our child's name, finishing with Zoe.
The possibilities are endless, like our love,
I can hardly wait three more months.

Finally, exhausted you tell me to go to sleep,
I sleepily protest, only to fall asleep midsentence.
Like always, I turn onto my back, you snuggle close,
Arms around my shoulders, face buried in my neck.

A night, like each one, yet so different,
A special love, carries us through morning.
Yet I open my eyes to find you nowhere,
I'm all alone in bed, you are the soulmate who left me.

I wish this all had happened, yet all I know is your kisses,
I long for them and you, not to mention our nonexistent child.
Wishing you'd stayed and kept the beat of my life going,
I said don't stop the music, it was even the name of our song.

You can do anything you put your mind to!

This explains everything. The feeling for the baby and man. I really enjoyed reading your work there is so much to it.

Great work!
