Evergreen

In the mists
Lies a forest,
Hidden in the Evergreen.
In the forest I hide
I am in complete sequestration
And there is silence.
Silence from the liars,
From the Sooth Sayers,
From Friends,
From Fiends,
And, above all, the ones I believe in.
In the Evergreen
I can pretend I'm dead,
I can pretend everything is red,
I can pretend I'm fine,
I can pretend I can shine.
I can pretend I'm not pretending.
