Beautiful Lie
She's a beautiful lie
She hides inside her layers
Pretending that she is okay
Pretending that the world is
Perfect,
Unlike her.
She hides within herself
She never speaks
Pretending to be normal
Pretending to
Fit in,
Even though she doesn't.
She feels like crying
She feels like screaming
Pretending to act normal
Pretending to think
Everything is normal,
When nothing is.
She doesn't feel like talking
She doesn't feel like listening
Pretending to ignore the sneers
Pretending to act
Tough,
When she has no confidence.
She's a beautiful lie
She hides inside
the layers of herself
She cries out for someone
to hear.
She screams
but doesn't want anyone
to hear.
She can't pretend anymore.
She's Tired
Confused
Angry
Emotional
Hurt.
She doesn't know
how to feel anymore.
Too Tired to tell.
Too Confused to think.
Too Angry to scream.
Too Emotional to speak.
Too Hurt to cry.
She knows what they'll say
'You're great for your age!'
'What?! Don't believe that!'
'You're beautiful.'
And yet she will disagree.
She will continue to pretend
She will continue to be that
Beautiful Lie.
