You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it.

Just one drink
That's what you say
Just one more and I'll hit the hay.

Chug,chug
You hear them chant
I plead you to stop, knowing you can't

Once you finish, you turn
A monster you become
Throwing punches that make you numb

Crash.
The car flips upside down, then turns back around.
With you falling to the ground

Luck
That's what you hold
Your body running cold

The innocent
They're the ones who lose their existence
Their bodies no longer tense

Ambulance
The flashing red lights
Signaling the terrible sights

Police department
You are taken there
They lock you in without a care

Jail cell
That's where you'll stay
Sitting there 'til you rot away

This poem is about my dad. No, he's not in jail for life. yet. All of this poem is true about him. besides the last stanza.
that's what is going to happen if he continues the way he is.

Daddy;;
You gotta stop and think.

Again, this poem is wonderful and full of emotion. I also have a parent who indulges too much in alcohol, so I can honestly say I know how you feel. I wish you luck, and encourage you to keep writing.
