Green Dress
The cigarette butt burns her fingertips. The hot
feeling resembling her anger towards him. She
makes herself small in the little yellow seat.
She’s used to belittling herself. Her dress,
almost as green as her envy towards his
attitude of indifference. The plants in her
apartment die around her while she’s shriveling
inside like the wilted leaves. He’s building
himself higher with her broken pieces.
