Haunted
I was haunted
by a ghost,
Who had no name,
No face.
Just a voice that sounded like the scratches
They asked me to place.
I was haunted
by a ghost,
Who’s voice decomposed into the soil of my mind.
And when it finally died,
It left a note behind.
I was haunted
By a ghost,
And their hands were made of words.
Every piece of them stunk,
Like old boiled curds.
I was haunted
by a ghost,
But you’re not allowed in.
Chills run up my spine,
As I think of you,
of all of my torn skin.
I am haunted
By memories,
And I get caught in their nets now and then.
I am more than what they tell me,
And I will never fall back
Ever again.
