They stand on opposite sides of the room,
Lovers from a distance.
Strangers in a crowded room,
They acknowledge each other’s existence.

At home she has a boyfriend,
He, too, leaves someone waiting.
Staring from across the room,
What makes her so captivating?

She moves to sit across his table,
He looks as though he’s seen an angel.
Her smile makes him lose his mind,
Her dimples so beautifully underlined.

He’s far too shy to let her know
Her carefree attitude excites his soul.
The way her skin absorbs the light,
The way her jeans compliment her curves,
The way her hair is feather light.
The rest of the room becomes an unimportant blur.
