What is midnight
The crescent that floats overhead
A sideways smile
It looks like
One big moon
That's what it is
Lightening up the sky
The small yellow stars
Polka dot the sky
A million little sun
It looks like
Many balls of burning gas
That's what it is
Brightening up the sky
You hear nothing
But silence
No distractions
No disruptions
A quiet stillness in the air
This is midnight
