Setting Sun
Rising with the morning sun,
The days to Christmas wayning.
The happiness and warmth I sought
Is gone
And now it’s raining.
Rain drops fall from our eyes,
Flooding us with emotion.
Then it turns to wind, hail, and snow
Along with confusion and commotion.
The hail stings,
It’s an ominous show
Filled with exits and entrances,
Grimness and woe.
I’m lost in this blizzard,
And my compass is broken.
I’ve had thousands of questions,
None have I spoken.
But the day that I question
That had only just begun
Is the day that I sadly note
As a grim, setting sun.
