Laughter
Laughter is a breeze in the summer.
When you feel it you are relieved,
and when it’s gone you are left
stranded alone
without shelter from the penetrating heat.
But when all is still
you know the world still
suffers silently.
Sometimes the wind comes when
it is unwanted.
It is a tornado that comes through
and others have to fix it.
Laughter has the power to change lives
to shuffle the future
to rewrite the stone
and remake our dreams.

I like to think of myself as a funny person, but I'm told my jokes make a situation worse. The majority of the time, people tell me that I make their day, which fills me with the impression that they enjoy being accompanied by me.
