Self-Reflection
She looks at herself and sees
To different people
One that’s perfect and meant to be
And the other who is her true self
The one that only her close friends see
She sees the kind, caring, always gets good grades girl
The shy girl who is too scared to speak in front of people
And never says a word unless spoken to.
But then she also catches glimpses of her true self
That no one really sees but is still there
The wild one who loves to laugh at the stupidest stuff
Who is weird in her own ways and has friends just as weird
The girl who enjoys reading so much she wishes she’ll be sucked up
Just to escape reality
The one who wears hoodies just a little too big cause they are comfy
What she truly sees is a girl who is beautiful
But still has trouble telling herself that sometimes
One that doesn’t care what other people think
She sees a girl waiting to be set free
So she can go out into the world and unfurl her wings
And soar.
