"You know you’re a writer if your friend tells you a heartbreaking story and your first reaction is – wow, that would make an incredible plot for a novel. You know you’re a smart writer if you manage to keep that reaction to yourself."

I build hiding places
out of sands of change
and then I hide among them
out of heart breaks range

I'll be the last one standing
in my hiding place of gold
and while your heart is breaking
my little heart will hold

I don't think you can see me
(But then, I could be wrong)
while I hide on sandy walls
and let life go along

The walls represent how you hide yourself to protect from heartbreak.. interpret it how you like, it's more fun that way
