I’ve gotten pretty good at keeping to myself
But I promise that one day you’ll see
I am stronger than you thought I was
And I’m more than any of you thought I could be

Don’t try and tell me that I’m not good enough
Or that my looks are just too plain
I don’t listen to what you have to say
Because you’re obviously just too vain

I don’t wake up at four a.m. to put on make up
And I don’t spend my mornings obsessing over my hair
There is no one I have to impress but me
So if I decide to not stand out you really shouldn’t care

Don’t try to tell me that I’m not good enough
Or that I’m not the same person you use to see
Because I’ll tell you that each of us has changed
We’re all trying to figure out who we’re supposed to be

Of course I’m different than I was in the past
I’ve learned who I can and can’t live without
I’m finding out exactly who I want to be
Because that’s what growing up is all about
