Polished Misery
The blackness ebbs away...
Just an oil, spilled in my ocean.
It cannot, forever stay,
though its poison is potent.
It seeps into my blood stream,
Tainting my whole core,
Haunting my every sacred dream,
I forget what I was made for...
It tries to choke my voice out,
With its polished misery,
My tears were attempted shouts,
For someone to save me.
I had begun falling far,
into the blackest hole,
losing sight of all we are,
And tainting my own soul.
I fell for far too long,
until i hit the cliff's jagged side,
to climb back out... I am not that strong,
not until I heal my wounded pride.
But I am not falling,
And I can see the way back out,
I can hear my loved ones calling,
I can hear their desperate shouts.
I may not be in the sunlight,
but i am beginning to see,
that I am stronger than this poison,
And it's polished misery.

I love this... it reminds me of sometone who is addicted to drugs or alcohol and then realizing they can overtake it. It was spellbinding, great work!
Will you check out my stuff sometime? Please? I have a poem called Sowing Poppies and I think you might like it.
