Weary and Broken
There sits a child full of wear
Because she goes through such despair.
Torn apart in a broken home,
She has no one to call her own.
Alone she stands and alone she fights,
Crying out for peace at night.
With wrists fresh cut and full of fear,
Her eyes are heavy from her tears.
Her guard so high from her scorching past,
Her whole being is now downcast.
Her future bleak and past now sad.
It could make any girl go mad.
But with new found strength, she pushes on.
She goes into the light of a fresh, new dawn.
With head held high and eyes now dry,
She no longer has the wish to die.
The world she dwells no longer taunts
And her dreams now no longer haunt.
A new day is here and a new day has come,
For her to fight with new found wisdom.
