The land is red and golden,
leaves are scattered everywhere
They are crisp and are lifted into piles,
only to be crushed by someone
whether parent or child alike
with giggles finding their ways out.

Then the weather has changed,
there are no more sunny days, instead more cold
The wind begins to rage
with delicate flakes twirling like dancers,
to their own special dance,
while the children run home
to wait until morning.

When the children wake up,
they smile with joy
and rush out all bundled up
in the plush jackets and mittened hands.
To do snowball fights or even snowmen and animals,
until they are frozen to the bone
and return home for warmth,
They will not learn though,
and return to the wonderland
only to repeat until the spring.
