Stamp of Approval
“Do you really want a Yes-man?”
And to that he answered no.
 “Someone who’ll pay you compliments?”
 He answered, “I don’t…no?”

They took that as a sanction
 To extend their reprimands
 He didn’t want a Yes-man now
 He’s stuck in No-man land.

So when he meets his sidekick
 Straw hair and rheumy eyes
He’ll let himself be hoodwinked by
 A fool in bad disguise.

 “I can be your Yes-man.”
 To that he’ll mutter no.
 “I’ll pay you phony compliments.”
 He’ll whisper, "Please don’t go."
