You always leave
Without saying goodbye,
And when you cry tears,
They are always dry.
In a figure of speech,
You made yourself a name,
But you lost all your love
In a desperate search for fame.
You betrayed the friends
That you once held close,
And they are the ones
That are grieving the most.
But if you had left
With a gentle goodbye,
When faced with a problem,
Had you actually tried,
Maybe you would live,
Not a life of betrayal,
But a life with a safe place
To land when you fail.
But you can't turn back now,
The hands of time are in place
You are stuck in a world
Of matter and space
So do you live on,
With death in your wake?
Do you keep living through
This life that's a fake?
Because you can't turn back now,
The hands of time are in place,
You are stuck in this world
Of matter and space,
Where choices are final,
And death takes its toll,
When you push in a direction
Then you're on a roll
There is no stopping now,
There are no limitations,
No strings hanging on
There are no complications,
If you leave now,
There are no fears to face,
Departure is your prowess
You can leave without a trace
You're boarding the plane
And think "What if I stay?"
Then you make a choice
And you fly away.
