For a Season

Friends come and go
I wanted you to stay
But now you’re someone I used know
Why did you go away

Nothing lasts forever
I wanted to prove that wrong
You treated me like whatever
I still loved you all along

Some doors close
To let others open
I barricaded yours in
You pushed, and now it’s broken

Why did you want to go
It was all your doing
I try to pick up the pieces
To realize, I’m the only one gluing

Gluing the pieces back to your door
Each and every time we fight
You never helped me, no support
Yet, I still saw the light

I guess you chose the dark
I thought I chose you
But nothing lasts forever
Is beginning to seem so true

Blessin’ or a lesson
You were both, I can’t choose
I can’t let go of the good memories
And the bad, I cannot lose

You came into my life for a reason
I needed you, no doubt
But everything has a season
Winter is over, flowers sprout

All the laughter that we shared
I know you won’t forget
When we laughed all day long
Watching the beautiful sunset

It’s time for me to move on
You’ve served your purpose
The more time I spend away from you
I see that holding on is worthless

I loved you
And I always will
Go home, it’s past your curfew
Away from me forever still

They say that time will heal
Yeah, I believe that’s true
But it also kills
It killed the love between me and you

I miss you
That is one thing for certain
But I can’t help but think
That only one of us is hurtin’

Friends come and go
I wanted you to stay
But the sun comes out
As your memories fade
