Green Tree Island
We wove our vessels through the sunset
Hoping to reach Green Tree Island.
The warmth of the day
Turned into cold night
As we wandered the winding willows.
We got caught in the branches
And thrown around
But steadily trekking Biskay.
Halfway to the Island,
The temperature dropped
Sending us the other way.
We started to freeze,
The chop increased,
I heard my mother calling.
The current against us,
We pushed on home,
And sit by the fire longing.
Longing for Green Tree Island.
