I am on a road.
Everything around me is dark - I can't see where I'm headed or what I'm looking at.
I know I want to get somewhere - I keep telling myself that I wanna do something good, be useful to the world...
Yet the fog masks my vision, and the stifling silence makes me sick.
I feel the ground beneath my foot. It's cold. It's dark.

Where the hell am I going?

But I feel the ground beneath my foot again.
I feel the road as I move forward, step by step.
I'm still moving.
I'm still walking on that road, taking those steps. I don't see anything, but I'm still walking.
And I'll keep walking.
At least I'm on a road. And I believe I will see where it ends.

The author's comments:

I wrote this one originally as a slam poetry piece. I wanted to be vulnerable and to convey what my own future holds for me. It's true - I am on a path of uncertainty - of not knowing how I want to help the world be a better place. But I will keep waiting, taking step after step to get to the end of the path. I will eventually find my own role in the development of my society.
