Walking on the edge

of a windowsill

I know she's going to

push me

over the edge.

This thin line I walk

a tightrope but on one side

is an impassable wall

of brick

each brick

one that she threw at me

so I could build it

the wall

between me

and the world

she's pushing me

over the edge

of the windowsill,

the tightrope,

the wall I can't climb,

they're all the same

I built this wall, now

I'm learning to climb

I'm leaving you behind

you, the girl who stole my heart and broke it

in a single second

constant torture

but now it's gone.

You're gone, I'm gone.

Your offer still stands

and I stand now, too.

Free of your wall,

free of your bricks and arrows and daggers

and never

will I be free of pain

but I can live with that.

I can live with the pain

knowing that I am not you

and you don't own me

anymore.

Not anymore.
