I Gave Her Sunflower Seeds
They say you should take the path less traveled.
but what do you do when the roots of the trees hold on to you
like you were a breath they so desperatly needed, both of you
are just trying to live
the the trees are dancing to the tempo of your heart beat
racing
against everyone just to feel like no one would hear you.
Then I see you walk past me how do you not sink into the soil?
Your arms extend to the light like sunflowers.
I can't move but I must keep running
in place
of love I put self doubt and I dont know how to remove the weeds
I dont wanna use pesticide
so I have to pick them out one by one
I was never good at gardening
right now I'm still learning to tend the soil
still learning to let the sunlight in and start to appreciate the rain
so let this seed I press in the palm of your hand be an invitation for you
to take root in me.

Im happy with how this came out. I had a crush and she gave me a single sunflower seed. This is a poem about that.
