Fear the Sun
I could admit I’m terrified
Or look away when our eyes meet
It's easy to avoid whats dignified
I avoid friction because I can't stand the heat
I'm in constant fear that I will melt
No, today I'll walk towards the sun
It bakes in a flurry of feelings I’ve never felt
A spectacle of flares dance before my eyes
Distracted by the light I stayed out too long
After I venture home I look in the mirror and realize
My skin is blistered but now I'm strong
Previously the sun was foe but now its friend
Now I walk outside and to my will the light shall bend
I now no longer yearn for night, hope the day will never end
Now fear lurks in the shadows
But by that time, hopefully
The sun will have a hand to lend
