~these words are knives and often leave scars~

Your little girl, sitting in the corner

She always was a really quick learner

You taught her well, but she grew up too fast

You can’t ever take back her difficult past

You pushed her too far, you have to admit

Tried to put her together, but the pieces didn’t fit

She gave it her best but it wasn’t enough

You caused her doubts, and it made her life rough

She wasn't perfect like you wanted her to be

And she thought to herself, “what’s wrong with me”

The kids always laughed at the way she looked

In her head those words were often hooked

High school came, and so did drama

It only brought back her childhood trauma

She fell in love, but it did not last

The boy she loved moved on too fast

He found a girl with bright blue eyes

They looked as if they had never once cried

Her heart would be broken for the very last time

Love to her, was a terrible crime

She couldn’t take it anymore

She ran to her room and locked the door

Tears dripped from her broken eyes

She should’ve known all of their words were lies

Mommy and Daddy, aren’t you proud

It’s too late. It’s all over now

you should have showed her that you cared

Instead of showing her that life’s not fair

She grabbed the pill bottle by her bed

And just like that, now she’s dead

you pushed her too far, you have to admit

And now you will always be filled with regret.
