They Never Knew Her Name
The human heart beats around 115,000 times per day
That's 115,000 times of being broken
115,000 times of shattering
115,000 marks left on her body
But you´ll never see her cry, you´ll never see her smile
Because you never saw her glistening dark eyes
Which could make the stars dance
The shine faded
She faded
As her body drifted away leaving what was a facade
She is a facade
all her scars and her stretch marks
are the beauty glimpses that you never saw
and you still can’t fathom how flawed she is
because in your eyes all the worth of her lies on the surface of her skin.
And society never forgets
Society never forgets the rules implicated on her to make her look better
Society never forgets her classification as an untouchable
And society always seems to remember that perfection is divinity
But what if perfection caused the extinction of humanity
What if perfection was just insanity
What if perfection was never there to begin with?
What if you cared enough?
What if you saw that her eyes were for more than seeing
What if you saw that her body was anything but ¨wrong¨
What if you saw her heart bleeding pain
Well you didn’t
You dropped her fragmented pieces
And never fixed them again
You left her to rot where she could never bounce back
But who was she?
You never knew
They never knew her name
But I’ll leave you with these final words
Why didn’t you know my name?
