You Today
You hate yourself today
You can't shut out those those thoughts
I've been in that place
Believe me, they're just thoughts
I can't tell you to stop now
I can't decide your fate
Why do you allow this,
Submit to all their hate?
Those monsters say to give in
You don't seem to disagree
Think about your future
Think of who you'll be
You are a beautiful person
Look on your past and smile
Aren't you glad you fought them
And stayed with us a while?
It seems that they mean nothing
They didn't all along
I'm happy you ignored it
I'm proud you stayed so strong
You are a better person
You don't believe those thoughts
They're gone without a trace
Because you know that they're just thoughts
You love yourself today
And for days and years to come
Remember to help the others
You aren't the only one

This piece is a motivational piece, mostly about suicidal thoughts and turning them into hope. It can also seen as thoughts about self doubt and failure. Much like all of my other writings, this poem highlights that we as humans are so much more alike than we are different, and that everyone has dark days, and others, darker. However, it aims to promote confidence in anyone that feels as if they've hit rock bottom, or anyone that knows they have before and still achieved a high with time.
