See Me
March 1, 2019
i shout to the
void,
but no sound comes
out
of my
throat.
i beg you,
please,
hear my words!
Hear what i
don’t say.
See the
tears
i cry,
even when none
come
out.

This poem was kind of inspired by my struggle with mental illness. If someone asks me if I'm okay, I typically tell them I'm fine and fake a smile. I really want someone to notice that I'm not okay.
NOTE: I KNOW THE ALL OF THE 'I'S ARE NOT CAPITALIZED. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY. IT'S A METAPHOR. IMPORTANT THINGS GET CAPITALIZED, I AM NOT IMPORTANT, THE WORDS ARE.
