Words
I just wish I could take back
All the lies that I said,
All the mistakes that I made,
All the messed up thoughts going round in my head,
But I can’t change the past.
I can’t get that lost time back.
Stronger and wiser, I’m a fighter.
I’ve been beaten to the ground
By all the people who surround me.
But I got back up,
So I could prove to people they were wrong
When they told me I wasn’t enough.
I never thought they were lying
When they yelled at me as I was crying.
All the words that they said
Left their mark on me.
They say words can’t hurt you,
But that’s so far from the truth.
Bruises heal over time,
But words stay with you
Until the end of your life.
