A friend has your back when no one else does

They stick by your side through thick and thin

Yet friends are not for everyone

Maybe it’s best to stick with friends that have to put up with you

They are not really friends but siblings

They change over time but they never leave your side

They may go away but with cell phones they really are not far

In a society where loyalty is bought

Who can you really trust?

The basic qualities friends have most people in society would not even say they are when describing themselves

Trustworthy, no one trust anyone

Honesty, everyone lies to save themselves

Dependable, people hate commitment

Loyalty,  what is that?

A friendship is no longer are bonds that can never be broken

It comes with requirements

A long list of “What can you do for me”

When you no longer serve a purpose

When the value of you has diminished

No longer have anything more to give but a shoulder to cry on

You no longer meet the requirements that come with the title “Friend”

Good people lose “friends” because their price is to high

The author's comments:

I feel like some of the reasons why I am against having close friends is because people have hiden motives. When I choose to accept a person I do it because I feel like no one should feel left out. Now days that is not the case for many people.
