You are enough.
I wish their
Validation
Did not feel like an
Obligation.
I wish you did not feel
Confined
By their opinions and
Afraid
To unveil a part of you.
I wish your sacrifice did not feel necessary,
But the words “I wish” do not sew holes.
All I can do is swim out to sea
And attempt to rescue you
when the rip tide yanks you into its chest.
But, I hope there is no storm
Because only you can relax your limbs
And let the waves take you
Until you are out of danger’s reach.
Be brave because
You are enough.
