Waiting
Waiting
Well, here I am, waiting outside
Braving the cold and the wind
And awaiting a large yellow object
To appear from around the corner
How many minutes have gone by?
Am I early?
I am late?
Did I miss an email?
I resist checking my phone
I should just be patient
I think to myself
Well, here I am, sitting here in class
I finished all my work
And I left my sketchbook at home
I check the clock every minute
I tap my foot
And rustle through my pencil case
But nothing can quench my boredom
I should just be patient
I think to myself
Well, here I am, laying in bed
And I question my mind with many strange thoughts
When will my eyes shut?
And when will I lay still?
And when will I be enveloped in darkness?
And when will I never talk again to a single soul
Until I eventually wake up?
And when will I find out if there is a dream world or not?
And no, I don’t mean sleep
I should just be patient
I think to myself

I was pretty bored during my free period in school, so I just decided to write a quick poem.
