If They Were Ever To ...
There are these voices,
Murmuring things in my ears,
Building an impeccable storyline;
I am failing to comprehend,
Is it supposedly mine?
So, it came into my consciousness,
If They Ever Were To
Play a melody of their own,
What would the music playing,
Feel like?
Would it be kind enough,
To be pacifying and therapeutic,
Unlike Them?
Or would it be unrelenting,
Like life itself.
Would the music be tumultuous?
Like my mind is in chaos,
Or would it be hushed,
Quiet enough for me to hear
The deafeningly erratic thumping of my heart?
Will the tone of their song,
Make chills run down my spine?
Or would there be
A sense of Euphoria,
That will calm my nerves?
Will the theme of the song,
Keep me up all night,
Drenching me in preposterous thoughts
Or would it help
Set me free
And Breathe.
I can’t seem to understand
The lyrics or the melody,
Of the song that they play
So harmoniously,
All together in sync.
I let them play
Their songs, loudly, though;
Let them decay the walls
Around my fragile heart;
Let them paint Rainbows
In this bland world of mine.
Sometimes the music slowly
Starts to fade, until all I hear
Is their faint whispering,
Like someone calling you out for help,
But from some afar place,
In the middle of the dark, lonely woods.
Sometimes, the song is too loud.
I shut my ears but you can still
Feel the effects of their loud words.
The melody is too harsh for my ears to bear,
But they somehow make me listen
To them.
Why do they do this?
Who are They?
And what music do they play?
