Ode to my blanket

You keep me warm through the brisk twilight
You comfort me in the pains of my mistakes
You shelter me from the shadows drawn on my walls
You vanish to my soft carpet as I unwillingly nudge you off my bed
You find happiness from the radiating joy you bring me
You become heartbroken as I peel you off and leave you on my empty bed
You hug me tight as my tears soak through your velvet skin
Your scent surrounds my body as you cling to me
And your love is as strong as the fabric holding you together
