My only Hope
I’ll hold your hand til the very end
the very end
and stay awake until tomorrow starts.
Carefully chosen words
like swords chasing mistakes.
Your powerful mind:
chamber of fears and tears.
Your diamond skin:
lights up in the sun,
Your soothing voice:
goosebumps
from head to toes.
Your scent of hair:
hardwood and soap.
Your rosy lips:
fresh and fruity kisses.
The sun was reaching to us,
gifting us with sunshine and smiles.
The sunset in Cali
And the sunrise on the road.
Our first trip brought us tears,
Fears of the day,
that I’ll pack my suitcase
and wait in line,
for an airplane
that I hope will arrive.
So I can stop
the falling,
the ending,
the feeling.
That I have to abandon you,
in their hands.
