Yesterday
Yesterday was a wreck
The smell of wet wood
And salty tears
Overflow my senses
Am I a honey bee
Or a wasp
Stained with benevolence
Or perhaps not
Dark purple circles
Under my blank eyes
Yellow raincoats
Contrast the gloomy sky
Ornate chapels
Iron bells ring
Wilting weeds sing
Crushed under pillows of snow
I wish I was a sailboat
Drifting afloat
Wandering the Earth
But I am a whirlpool instead
Consuming myself
And left with nothing
But the stench of petroleum
Swirling around my body
If I am coated in indigo
Will I garner any allure
If I adorn myself in jewels
Will I shine any brighter
I can feel the abyss looming
Shifting closer
With every breath
Inhale
Exhale
Closer
