Silent Pain
Tired.
It’s creeping up on me the way it used to,
Missing you and the way you just knew.
But only fools would fuel that ember,
For a faint memory they shouldn't remember.
Dark
All you have doesn’t seem to be enough
No candle is ever so tough.
Guess who was a fool to give it all away,
Even when she knew you’d leave some day.
Haunted
Permanent scars all covered up,
Who knew they’d come from an end without a blowup.
Knees fail and I feel it before it hurts,
Tomorrow there’s no way I’d replay the concerts
Longing
Goodbye was just a test,
Hoping to hear even the slightest protest.
I guess the band stretched too thin,
Snapping only to leave behind a plastic grin.
Eyes stared from across the room,
Begging and pleading to just stop this gloom.
Proof that dreams lied,
Who cares how much I tried?
Silent pain
Smiled, waved, texted, and knocked,
But you just turned away and left me locked.
Mind over matter, just fake it with them,
Hopefully I’ll eventually be numb.
