There are some things that are
left unsaid,
the fact that you
grandfather needs to go to
a nursing home because his mind is
breaking,
the picture your best friend has
just drawn that's
supposed to be two yellow canoes
but looks more like
bananas,
the cancer that spread to your
little brother's heart,
and you know this time, he won't be able to
fight it.
These things are left
unsaid because you
don't want to
shatter their worlds,
you don't want them to break,
like your grandfather's mind,
or
change,
like your best friend's picture,
or die,
like your little brother,
just because
of something that
was meant to be
left
      unsaid.
