Ode to Fire
You shine a fiery red color,
Burnt sienna mixed with beautiful gold.
You have the power to mesmerize my eyes.
You stand on birthday cakes.
You flow so magically,
Before I breathe in
And blow you out
You live in the fireplace.
Crackling
Sizzling
all through the night.
Since the beginning of time.
You have been the source,
Of heat and light.
You give the ability
To cook food
Create pottery
And forge tools.
We would not know your
warmth.
We would not know your magnificent
light.
Without that simple rock and wood
You would have not been born.
