Mistakes

Guilt is a kid stranded in their bedroom after being grounded,

arising downstairs is your parents’ disappointment,

for the dishes still bedraggled,

but what do you know about chores?

You have been hypnotized with the first president

on the green rectangle paper

to put your hands on the silverware,

but you didn’t expect gruesome germs

bathing on the dishes.

As you keep watching the lifeless world outside the window,

you hear the doorbell sing,

outside are your fellow friends

oblivious of the foreit you are facing.

As your mom declines your friends request to play,

the ostensibly simple door slams forming vibration

that shakes the entire house.

With the youthful soul of yours,

can’t stand to watch the whimsical children outside,

with the genial laughter

like they are happy without you.

The silent shame that sneaks upon you

like a black cloud hovering over your world,

and the sobs that soaked the pillow and wrecked your heart.

Making it deadful is the bile exploding bitterly in your mouth,

even with the eloquent colors hugged to the wall,

and the smiling sunshine that strives to set a simper, sadly

the blurry heart can’t vision the beauty

like the understanding of my fault, but

it may be what you deserve.
